Faithful readers know that the team at Carriage House is one of my favorite group of people.
The classes – only a small part of what goes on down there – are unique to Tucson and bring a nice mix of people, food, culture and fun.
So when I found out they were going to have a kid’s cooking class, I got excited.
I don’t have any kids I can bring, but hopefully many of you do. Spending time in the kitchen with your kids is a truly connecting activity. Not only do you and the kids connect, but when kids participate in cooking, they connect with the food. The rewards are immediate and lasting.
On Sunday December, 11th starting at 11:00 a.m., Chefs Devon Sanner and Ashley Chen will conduct an interactive class where kids 8-14 will learn how to make Holiday Treats for Giving. The syllabus includes cupcake in a mason jar, candy cane white chocolate hearts and truffles and more. Everyone will go home with a treat.
Class is $40 with the only caveat being that they must be accompanied by an adult.
Also, on December 17th, Mrs. Santa Claus will be there telling stories (and i bet she has some stories to tell.)
