Fans of North Italia know just how wonderful the Community Dinners can be.
Well, there’s another one afoot; in fact, it will be held on July 20th at 6:30 pm.
Taking from regions of Italy, Chefs Carlos Calderon and Omar Huerta (who has returned to Tucson, much to the delight of this food writer) will be serving up a four course dinner in the traditional Italian manner: antipasto, primo, secondo and dolci courses.
Each course is paired with a well-thought out “beverage” which in the case of Fox Concept Restaurants means good wines.
And at $50 per person – tax & tip not included – the Community Dinners are a steal.
Many of the ingredients are local and/or house made, which also follows Italian tradition.
The menu is as follows:
Heirloom tomatoes, house-made pancetta, rustic bread and Queen Creek Olive Oil.
Tagliatelle al Tartufo
Tagliatelle pasta made from Hayden Mills flour, truffles and pecorino cheese.
Bistecca alla Florentina é fagioli all uccelleto
Grilled grass-fed beef, cannellini beans, stewed tomatoes and seasonal roasted vegetables.
Cantucci é sorbetto
Almond biscotti with apricot sorbet and black mission figs.
Any one of these plates sets my taste buds aquiver; put them together in one evening….Bellisima!
Call 299-1600 for reservations.
I’d call soon, these dinners have a way of selling out fast.
