I’ve been posting about Carriage House often lately, but it seems that every couple days there is another, exciting event happening there.
This upcoming event highlights what Carriage House is all about: celebrating the best of what’s happening in Tucson and bringing it all together.
In this case it’s a dinner featuring one of the authors who will be presenting at The Tucson Festival of Books.
On Sunday March 13th, Chef Wilder will be serving dishes from award winning chef Amelia Saltsman’s “The Seasonal Jewish Kitchen: A Fresh Take on Tradition”. Chef Saltsman will be there discussing her dishes and signing books.
Below is the menu and as you can see the dishes are modern takes on traditional comfort dishes from the Jewish kitchen.
Passed Hors d ’Oeuvres
Mom’s Sort-Of-Ashkenazic Charoset and Matzah
Green Fava Bean and English Pea “Hummus” with Pita Triangles and Za’atar
Smoked Chicken Breast with Blood Orange Marmalade and Ras El Hanout
Spring Salad with Radishes, Peas, Avocado, Eggs, and Creamy Lemon-Shallot Dressing
Duck with White Beans and Gribenes
Chocolate Pavlova with Tangelo Sorbet and Seville Orange Sauce
Net proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Tucson Jewish Community Center and the Tucson Festival of Books. The price per person is $115 and includes a signed copy of Saltsman’s new book. Reservations for the dinner can be made by calling Megan Noli at 520-615-6100.
